Traxsource Introduces Human-Made and AI-Assisted Music Labels Beginning July 1, 2026

In a significant move aimed at increasing transparency within the digital music marketplace, Traxsource has announced the launch of new Human-Made and AI-Assisted music labels across its platform beginning July 1, 2026.

The initiative follows Traxsource’s recently published statement, “Our Position on AI Music,” which outlined the company’s evolving approach to artificial intelligence, music creation, and content classification in an industry rapidly adapting to new technologies.

To support the rollout, Traxsource has partnered with two leading AI detection companies, SH Labs and SoundPatrol, to help identify and classify music submitted to the platform. According to the company, fully AI-generated music will be flagged for removal, while tracks created through a human-led process utilizing AI tools will receive an AI-Assisted designation. Music created entirely through traditional human artistry will carry a Human-Made label.

Balancing Innovation and Human Creativity

Traxsource Co-Founder and Managing Director Brian Tappert says the company views the current AI debate as another defining moment in its history.

“We realize that everything that got us here came from strong convictions and the guts to act on them. Our musical direction, starting Soulfuric, the crazy notion of launching a website selling digital files while the vinyl market was collapsing from online piracy. This AI moment feels like one of those all over again. We do not believe AI is going away. Everything we’re doing is about finding a way to live with it, and making sure the value stays where it belongs, with human-created works.”

The new labeling system is designed to provide DJs, producers, record labels, and music buyers with greater transparency about how music has been created. Rather than restricting innovation, Traxsource says its goal is to allow consumers to make informed choices while embracing technological advancement.

Giving Music Buyers a Choice

Traxsource Co-Founder and CTO Marc Pomeroy compared the future of music shopping to modern food markets, where consumers can choose between conventional and organic products.

“We envision a future where shopping for music is like shopping for food today, conventional products right next to certified organic, with the choice left to the consumer. We’re simply using technical means to preserve and uphold organic, human artistry, while keeping the option open for those artists who are pushing the envelope of technology, not wishing to stifle the creative process.”

Updated AI Policy Takes Effect July 1

The company’s revised AI policy continues to distinguish between AI-Assisted music, where human creators remain actively involved in the artistic process, and fully AI-Generated music, which Traxsource does not support on its platform.

Traxsource states it is already removing fully AI-generated content on a daily basis and has implemented a rebuttal process allowing content providers to dispute classifications they believe are inaccurate.

The new Human-Made and AI-Assisted labels, along with updated Terms of Service and AI policies, will officially take effect on July 1, 2026.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the music industry, Traxsource’s latest move positions the platform among the first major DJ-focused music retailers to establish a formal classification system designed to preserve transparency while acknowledging the growing role of AI in music production.
