Welcome to The PUB Report — the voice of emerging music, film, and culture.
Founded by publisher Rodney K. Jackson, The PUB Report is built on a legacy of authentic storytelling and industry experience. A record producer, DJ, screenwriter, filmmaker, and media entrepreneur, Jackson launched the Phoenix- and Chicago-based urban magazine in 1996, creating a platform that spotlighted major voices in entertainment, including Nas, Mary J. Blige, Ginuwine, Kirk Franklin, and B2K, among many others.
As a record producer and songwriter, Jackson played a key role in shaping the success of CeCe Peniston, producing her breakout hit “Finally” and contributing to half of her Gold-certified debut album.
In film and television, Jackson is an award-winning screenwriter, earning honors from the Chicago Script Awards (Best Script by a Chicago Writer) and the Venice Beach Film Festival for co-writing Redemption Raiders. He also co-wrote the political sci-fi short film The Write-In and produced the web series The Lodge, further expanding his footprint in visual storytelling.
The PUB Report’s mission remains clear: to spotlight the stories, artists, and creative voices often overlooked by mainstream media—bringing forward the culture before the world catches on.
