SYLO MAINLINES INTENTIONALITY INTO HIGHLY ANTICIPATED EP BLANKET
Today, frontrunner of the alt-R&B renaissance Sylo releases his latest EP blanket. Built up of intimate ballads and slow-burning grooves, the Korean-Canadian artist meticulously puts together a 7-track portrait of his latest era of life. Taking some time to himself in 2022 to place the utmost intentionality behind his work, the end product is something that feels like a personal serenade – Listen.
Bringing together fan favorites and new releases alike, blanket kicks off with “Millions” setting the tone of the project with sultry vocals and delicate production. Moving into singles “AIR” and “Drop A Pin,” listeners are reacquainted with Sylo’s late 2022 offerings. Following a brief interlude, his most beloved track “Ginny” makes its way into the mix; almost like a capstone on this era of artistry. Rounding out with new releases “October” and “What’s Left,” Sylo satiates listeners just enough, but also leave them craving more.
On his EP release, Sylo said, “’blanket’ is synonymous with the divine feminine. Unconditional love to be cradled in, where all is forgiven. This project taught me to just sit and surrender.
Throughout 2022, Sylo rolled out a few of the singles from blanket, including “Millions,” “AIR” and “Drop A Pin.” Each was met with praise from the likes of NPR, Billboard, Consequence and Lyrical Lemonade, and received support from Spotify’s New Music Friday, Alternative R&B and indie pop & chill editorial playlists, as well as New Music Daily on Apple Music. 2022 also saw Sylo take to the road with MICHELLE for a North American tour run.
With the release of blanket in its entirety, Sylo’s discography has hit a new point of maturation from the carefully curated intention he puts behind everything he does. Sylo will be making his SXSW debut in March and the rest of the year will see lots of new announcements to come. He also has upcoming shows in Canada in late February and early March.

ABOUT SYLO
Raised in Toronto, ON, Sylo’s take on R&B is inspired by his environment. He was born into a Korean family with religious roots. This inspired him to sing as a child in church services, leading him to learn several instruments at once. Sylo’s musical talents were further enhanced by his older sister who played 90s R&B and hip-hop to full effect. Once he learned how to apply his inspirations into his own productions, he became driven to write and perform his own songs for the world.
Sylo has now become known for his silky records that were created in his own bedroom studio. The work has received global recognition, charting virally on both Spotify and Apple Music. Additionally, his songwriting skills have placed him in studios amongst GRAMMY-winning/nominated songwriters in Los Angeles, London and Toronto. This year has seen Sylo on tour supporting MICHELLE, in tandem with his releases of “Bento Box” / “American Idea” and “Millions.” In November, Sylo released his singles “AIR” and “Drop A Pin” – the first taste of his EP blanket which is available everywhere today.
