Phoenix Rapper Richie Evans Shares Highly Favored EP

Today, Phoenix rapper Richie Evans releases Highly Favored, a 6-track EP with music ranging from smooth jams to boom-bap rap with production from The Olympicks, Othello Beats, Tariq & Paul Cabbin, TrackPros and Kofi – stream it HERE. Featured guests include Los Angeles rappers Jay Rock and Eastside K-Boy along with platinum artists Rick Ross and R&B vocalist Vedo. The latter two are featured on the Highly Favored new single and music video “Can’t Knock The Hustle,” a track inspired by the classic from Jay-Z’s debut album Reasonable Doubt. The music video will debut next Tuesday, 1/24 @ 12PM EST. Watch a trailer to the music video HERE.

“I’m excited for this first release under my own imprint The Evans Administration,” explains Evans. “I’ve learned so much working closely with entrepreneurs like The Game and Rick Ross. One of the most meaningful songs on the project is my latest single “Can’t Knock The Hustle.” When I recorded that song I felt that I had similar emotions to Jay-Z when he was hustling to build his own brand and legacy by any means necessary. I’m trying to grab a hold of that American Dream that he achieved with a hard work ethic, strong character and a hustlers mentality.”

HotNewHipHop recently declared Evans as “one of Phoenix’s most notable rap talents” and described the hard-hitting Highly Favored track “Pressure” (ft. Jay Rock and EastSide K-Boy) as one that delivered “boom-bap heads some solid skill.” The song gained over 150K plays on Spotify and landed the #1 spot on their playlist Spilled Ink that has over 1.6 million likes. While lead single “For You” featuring Vedo and produced by The Olympicks (Rick Ross, Lil Wayne) climbed Urban Radio charts earlier this year earning spins on top radio markets including Power 105 (New York), V103 (Atlanta) and Power 92 (Chicago). “For You” was covered by music sites including AllHipHop, ThisIs50, RESPECT, HipHopSince1987 and Hype Off Life, who said Evans has “undeniable lyricism.” MTV and BET both supported the “For You” music video. He studied under The Game. He landed a major deal with Nike. He was endorsed by Vitaminwater. He did all that on his own, without the help of a major label deal and sans the backdrop of a major rap city. Now, Richie Evans is poised to become rap’s next superstar and put his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona on the map.

“If you take a little bit of The Game, mix a little bit of Fabolous with a little bit of Nas, sprinkle a little bit of Ice Cube and wrap it all up,” he says, “that’s what you get from me.”

Richie Evans sounds like the best because he learned from the best. After a chance meeting with platinum rapper The Game in a Phoenix nightclub several years ago, Evans joined The Game’s team and learned under the Compton rap icon. A few years into their relationship, Richie Evans – who rapped under the moniker Juice at the time – decided to strike out on his own. The Game gave Evans his blessing, so Richie Evans adopted his given name in 2016 and started rebranding himself. He began building his infrastructure and setting himself up with a business, The Evans Administration. Almost immediately, things started taking off.

In 2017, Evans’ buzz in his city’s streets reached players on the Phoenix Suns. When Nike was looking for an emerging artist to make a commercial for its Trunner 1 sneaker, Suns players spoke up for him, helping him land the job. Around the same time, Vitaminwater was holding showcases for talent in different cities. They selected Evans to represent Phoenix, leading to an endorsement deal and a headlining performance. These opportunities show Evans’ ability to work both the streets and corporate suites.

Highly Favored EP, which will be released via partnership between The Evans Administration (TEA) company and music industry powerhouse INgrooves, also features previously released single “For You” with platinum vocalist Vedo. Here, Evans puts his woman on a pedestal, proclaiming his love for her and highlighting the positive things she’s brought to his life. The song’s lyrics represent that Evans views women as essential members of his movement.

Now, with the impending release of his Highly Favored EP and endorsements from several of the genre’s biggest acts, Richie Evans is ready to rise and be the driving force of Phoenix’s musical movement. Get ready.
