FASHION in a SNAPSHOT: Nude… Pink… The new Lip Craze…

“Lil Mama” coined the popular phrase “My Lip Gloss is poppin”. Yes ladies we all love when our lip gloss is poppin, but the new craze to sweep fashionista’s everywhere is the Nude and Light Pink Lipstick. Nude Lips were seen down several runways for Spring 2011, also several celebs have been working this demur, but chic look for day and night as of late. Nude Lips can be a little tricky to accomplish, take a look at a few tips listed below, to pull off a flawless beat face and Nude Lip.

1. Exfoliate and Moisturize Lips
Take a wet toothbrush-yes I said toothbrush and brush lips to exfoliate and remove any dead or flaky skin, then lather on a light lip palm, for the perfect pout! Another way to exfoliate the lips would be to make your own exfoliating scrub with brown sugar, lemon juice, couple drops of vitamin E oil or olive oil and a little honey. Works like a charm and tasty too ;-)

2. Define Lips
This step is over looked by many, including myself when I first started wearing my new fav shade “Cherish”. Defining your lips is most important, you don’t want your lips to look one dimensional. Line Lips with a lip pencil one or two shades deeper then your complexion. For a natural blended look, apply the lip pencil by using the side and not the tip. Avoid drawing a definitive line by applying with the edge of the pencil for a fuller outline.

3. Concealer
Yes my darling fashionista’s I said concealer, use a concealer one to two shades deeper than your skin tone. Apply concealer lightly with a brush for a matte finish (try to stay away from heavy cream concealer, it tends to look chalky). For a sun kissed look, apply bronzer over concealer. It looks amazing!

4. Matte or Gloss?
For a Matte finish with Lipstick try Mac “cherish”, or Mac “Pink Please Me” or ‘Coy”. For a Nude Gloss, try shades with a faint tint of brown or pink depending on complexion. All you darling brown-skin bella’s, apply a nude gloss with flakes of gold. Paired against your skin tone, it will give you a radiant look.

5. Add color
Add color somewhere on your face to avoid looking washed out. Try a bold under eye liner, blue, purple, or a vibrant turquoise. A rosy cheek will do the trick, or a nice soft shadow.
