Pattern mixing can be a bold choice, and not all of you darling stylistas are ready for such a move.

Many of our closets may be flocked with floral, stripe, and plaid pieces to adorn our wardrobe, but who would ever think to pair them together! Going against the grain, can look uber high-fashion and add a chic factor to your current look. Are you fab fashionista’s a bit scared to try this trend, with fear of looking like Boo-zo the clown? Try these simple tips below for pattern mixing.

Balance is key: When mixing intricate patterns, it’s best to keep one pattern in a neutral hue and the other pattern in a brighter hue, to have a balance cohesive look.

Dare to Accessorize: Accessories add flair to any outfit, start off slow with a pattern pair of tights or shoes.

Plaid me Crazy: All colors and types of Plaid look great paired together. Try a flannel shirt with a plaid cardigan on top, chic for winter.

Thin and Thick: Want to ease into pattern mixing? Start off the easiest way by mixing your stripes. Pair a thin stripe tank under a thicker stripe cardigan or blazer. Your look will be well but together but doesn’t give off the “I really tried to make this look good.”
