FASHION in a SNAPSHOT: Rapper D CA$H – Southern Rapper with Flair

Interview with Miami Rapper “D CA$H

by Tecarra King

Miami’s music scene has evolved into all kinds of HOTNESS over the last couple of years, with the likes of Rick Ross, D.J Khaled, Ace Hood and several other great talents. Up next to show the world what he has to offer, is Miami Gardens own D CA$H. I had the opportunity to interview the well spoken rapper, about his future plans, fashion favorites, and a host of other things. Ladies I know you’ll like this one, he’s easy on the eyes and has SWAG that exudes through the phone. SCORE!

How did you get your start with Rap music?

I got my start in music by watching and listening to my uncle who was a member of the well-known Rap group “Iconz”. Rap first begun as a hobby, but I liked it so much that I turned it into something more serious.

How long have you been Rapping?

5 years

Where did the name D CA$H come from?

Well, D CA$H comes from me always wanting the best, always wearing the best, being flashy, having cash, that’s wear the name “CA$H” comes from and the D stands for David – my first name.

Are there any rappers that you admire, or influence you?

I of course admire Trick Daddy, who basically put Miami on the map and always pushed theMiami Rap movement  forward. I respect all the Miami rappers and as well as other rappers like T.I., Jay-Z, 50 Cent and my favorite rapper Fab, which all have influences in my music.

Being a rapper,  do you feel that fashion/style has an effect on your image?

Fashion has always been super important in my life, I have always stood upon the notion that first impressions are lasting impressions and that I must look good, and stay fresh at all times.

What are your two must have fashion items?

My must have fashion items are a pair of Retro Jordan’s and a pair of Fresh Jeans.

When it comes to style in a woman, what attracts you?

I love to know that a woman is in-tune with the  sneaker game, not always wearing them, but that she can pull them out at any second. I like when the heel and pump game is on point. I also like a nice pair of jeans or a dress. The objective is to get it off anyway.

What would be your top accomplishment as a Rapper?

My top accomplishment as a Rapper would be, to be able to do what I love and benefit off of it, as well as being able to always provide for my family. In addition, just  make the music that I love and never have to conform to the masses.

Do you have any favorite quotes or expressions you live by?

“When rapping starts to feel like a Job, I don’t want to do it anymore.” Rapping should always be something that I love to do.

What can we expect from you within the next few years?

My new project will be out in March, “2 Real for Radio”. I also see myself increasing my fan base – I plan on being the topic of several people’s conversation. I have several shows coming up in ATL and NYC as well.

D CA$H is sure to be the topic of serval converstations with his fresh sense of style, and quick witty lyrics. Take a listen for yourself!
