Love Yourself First will host their 3rd Annual “Pink Party – Chicago benefiting Helping Her Live Breast Cancer Educational and Outreach Program (HHL).
Helping Her Live aims to Gain Control of Breast Cancer in two specific communities, in Chicago, by empowering women with information, helping women obtain routine breast cancer screenings and working with women to eliminate delays in obtaining test results and additional follow-up as needed. The HHL Program intends to be a community model to navigate breast health services and to measure its effectiveness in improving breast health outcomes such as an increase in routine mammograms and reduction in number of delays. HHL was instrumental in the passing of the Reducing Breast Cancer Disparities Act in Illinois.
The 1st annual event was a huge success with Lisa Raye McCoy as the celebrity guest, Last year, Supermodel Monique Stateena was the celebrity guest and the event was hosted by radio personality Bionce Foxx (Power 92 Chicago) LYF was able to raise and donate a substantial amount to The Breast Cancer Network of Strength two years in a row. This year we plan to donate a large amount to HHL Program. 25% of the proceeds will be donated to the HHL Program.
At this year’s event guests will enjoy a buffet catered by one of Chicago’s leading caterers and a live performance by Gospel Recording Artist Melinda Watts. Guests will have the opportunity to walk the “Pink Carpet”, with local and national celebrities and industry tastemakers. Survivors will share their stories and a renowned medical professional will speak to attendees about new developments, mammograms and other Breast Cancer topics. In addition, there will be a “Pink Passion” Award given to an individual, locally or nationally, who is a true and active warrior, for her community, concerning the fight against Breast Cancer
