Glenn Beck and Fox News: Hate For Profit

Let’s face it. If you watch “The Cleveland Show”, “Family Guy”, “Cops”, “America’s Most Wanted”, “American Idol”, “American Dad”, “The Simpsons”, “Glee”, or “So You Think You Can Dance” , you are directly contributing to the hate war chest of Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck and his employers, Fox TV (A network built in the backs of African-American shows like “In Living Color”, “Living Single”, “New York Undercover”, and “Martin”).

Beck, a former Top 40 radio DJ, has turned up the heat nationally on race relations, justice for the rich, immigration and religious freedom. His dislike for President Barack Obama stems from the Conservative and Tea Party prospective that America is a capitalist society and if you become wealthy (no matter how that wealth is attained), you should not be told by the government what to do with your money.

Glenn Beck and his followers believe America is a level playing field and he keys in on the fear of the nation’s white majority. Beck discounts the ramifications of slavery, religious persecution, and unregulated capitalism .

This is a man that recently commented about the Islamic mosque in New York City and believes that it should not be built close to Ground Zero. Beck and his right-wing Christian followers believe Islamic leaders should be “sensitive” to the families of 9/11 victims.

(If that is the case, Oklahoma City should prevent all white, Christian males from constructing any building in that area because of Timothy McVeigh’s attack on the Federal Building).

We can not stop Glenn Beck from talking, but his rhetoric has become borderline treasonous. Please remember folks, this man is in the entertainment business and does not have a journalistic bone in his body. Even if we don’t agree about a president’s policy, we must respect the office. We can make a difference in this type of journalism by simply turning off Fox TV.
