Wyclef For President

37-year-old recording artists Wyclef Jean is set to announce his plans run for president. Jean, who has championed causes related to Haiti, faced many challenged such as the devastating earthquake in January, the country’s high poverty rate, his political inexperience, and the fact he speaks very little French or Creole.

Young Buck Gets Taxed

Former G-Unit member, Young Buck is now another victim of the IRS. The agency raided Buck’s home on Tuesday (Aug. 3) and took most of his possessions to settle a $300,000 back tax judgement. Buck blames his record company and management for his troubles

DJ Drama Managed By Violator

DJ Drama has signed to Violator Management. Others on the Violator roster include Soulja Boy, 50 Cent, P-Diddy, and Mariah Carey. Violator will negoitiate all music, touring and endorsement deals for the music producer /DJ.

2010 VMAs Announced

Lady Gaga has earned a record-breaking 13 MTV VMA nominations, the network announced yesterday (Aug. 3). The pop star’s “Bad Romance” video is up for Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, Best Female Video and Best Dance Video, among other categories.

Eminem leads all nominated male artists with eight VMA nods — including Video of the Year and Best Male Video for “Not Afraid”. ”

Hip-hop newcomer B.o.B. received five VMA nominations for his No. 1 debut single, “Nothin’ On You,” while pop upstart Ke$ha racked up three nods for her “TiK ToK” clip. Justin Bieber received his first VMA nomination for Best New Artist for his “My World 2.0″ lead single “Baby.”

The 2010 VMAs will air live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater on Sept. 12. Voting for general VMA categories starts today at vma.mtv.com.
