Danny Clark (NY Giants #55) announces the 2nd Annual “Danny Clark Foundation” Charity Weekend
Chicago, IL – May 7, 2010 - The Danny Clark Foundation, spearheaded by New York Giant’s legendary veteran linebacker Danny Clark (#55), is dedicated to inspiring hope and providing economic resources and outreach to under-serviced youth. With the increase in crime, juvenile drug abuse, incarceration and teen pregnancy, it is the foundation’s desire to bring awareness and exposure in the platform of a charity weekend. Clark encourages the City of Chicago to make a difference by partaking in the 2nd annual “Danny Clark Foundation” Charity Weekend on May 7th – 8th 2010.
This year’s “Danny Clark Foundation” Charity Weekend hosted by Danny Clark (NY Giant #55) and Hosea Chanchez (BET’s The Game), stands to be a momentous occasion where pro-athletes, city/ state officials, press, influencers and taste makers of Chicago join forces to service the community in which they live. Hailing from Country Club Hills, Illinois, Clark states, “This is where it all began. I grew up in Chicago, so understandably I was a Bears fan. My interest in organized football really peaked the fall after their convincing win in Super Bowl XX against the New England Patriots (46-10). That summer, my dad got me signed up with the Bellwood Spartans. I was nine years old, but because of my weight, I was placed on the Pee Wee level with 10/11 yrs old bracket. Ironically, during my first season they issued me #55 and I was a linebacker. Of course, I did not understand the game totally, but my coaches made it extremely simple for me. They told me to run as fast as I can, and tackle anyone who has the ball and these ideals stills work for me in the NFL today. I credit my success to those who opened doors for me on my journey and through my foundation, I vowed to do the same.” 
The charity weekend will include a much anticipated charity comedy revue, five-star fundraiser gala, high school tour initiative and more. “During this truly amazing weekend we encourage the city of Chicago to help make a difference in the lives of those we service. Words cannot describe the emotions that overcome our program participants when an act of kindness has made a difference in their lives”, states Chasity Clark (Danny Clark Foundation director).
