CARMELO ANTHONY’S KROSSOVER ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS NEW ARTIST “DIEGO CA$H”!

Krossover Entertainment Presents “Diego Ca$H”

May 5, 2010 – Christian “Diego Ca$h” Vasquez style and swag is a reflection of his diverse background and upbringing. Born in New York and raised in Atlanta, GA its hard to pin point exactly what genre he falls into which makes him in a category all his on.  He describes his music as “somewhat different than your average ATL rapper” growing up to the sounds of latin, soul and reggae music but knows what will get airplay and bodies moving in the club. Diego’s new single “Nuvo (what it is)” was created  when he and high school mate “Soundz” (Producer) went to Denver to record for his upcoming album. ” Me and my man Soundz was out in the club one night and was feeling the vibe and energy and we just wanted to do a song about the club lifestyle. So its not so much about the drink but the lifestyle that goes on in the club”.

With new album “Language Arts” in the works, Diego has already collaborated with some of the best in the industry and will feature a diverse range of stars such as Cool and Dre, Havoc from Mobb Deep, Macy Gray, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Gorilla Zoe and many more.

But he says his dream collaboration would be with Pharrell. “I like his style of music, I like the swag he puts on his beats. I love what he does when he works with the industry.” When asked how does it feel to be the first artist signed to an NBA superstar’s first label, Diego feels he is in good hands. “I feel like I’m in a good position. Me and Melo have been doing this for a long time so we grew together with this. We understand what’s going on and Cassidy just joined about a year and a half ago.”

Getting the support and backing from another famous star (sister and TV personality Alani “Lala” Vasquez), Diego has taken full advantage of all his assets, but doesn’t let nepotism faze him. “I necessarily don’t feel that’s a bad thing because wherever you from you can throw my music on and jam. My sister always plugs me with the right people and I’m very grateful for that. She’s also older than me so her life is different from mine.”

When asked where he thinks the direction of rap music is headed and where he sees himself in the industry, Diego understands the power of being universal. “I think rap is getting broader and starting to become more musical. Its getting more worldly and spreading across different genres. Its a good place for me because I’m 100% Puerto Rican and coming from the east coast and the south, I pull different parts of me out into the album.”

Diego just finished a song with Joell Ortiz  (The Brick - Bodega Chronicles) called “Return of the Rican” and is preparing for his album to drop late summer/early fall.
